Creep Behavior of Diffusion-Welded Alloy 617

چکیده

Plate-type heat exchangers are anticipated to be used in the next-generation nuclear industry, and solid-state diffusion welding is a critical technology for building plate-type with high integrity. In this study, we manufactured weldment evaluated its creep behavior. Microscopic analysis revealed that Al-rich oxides were developed along interface, significantly impeding grain-boundary movement across interface. Oxide-containing planar grain boundaries resulted premature brittle fracture at interface less than 9% strain under all test conditions. The time rupture 1% of those as-received alloy, while slopes double-logarithmic plots almost identical both alloys. Larson–Miller parameter stress reached 95.59% whereas steeply decreased low-stress range.

Precipitate Redistribution During Creep of Alloy 617

Nickel-based superalloys are being considered for applications within advanced nuclear power generation systems due to their high temperature strength and corrosion resistance. Alloy 617, a candidate for use in heat exchangers, derives its strength from both solid solution strengthening and the precipitation of carbide particles. However, during creep, carbides that are supposed to retard grain...

Corrosion behavior of dissimilar welded joint between Inconel 617 alloy and A387-Gr.11 low-alloy steel

In this study, Inconel 617 alloy was welded to A387-Gr.11 low-alloy steel using ER309L filler metal via gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). First, the corrosion behavior of Inconel 617, A387-Gr, and the weld metal was evaluated by the Tafel polarization test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in acidic (H2SO4), neutral (NaCl), and combined (H2SO4 + NaCl) solution at ambient temperatu...
